Troop 106328 is a Girl Scout Troop made up of girls in the Home School community throughout Northern Harris, and Montgomery County. The troop was founded in October of 2016, and began meeting at Cypress Trails United Methodist church in December of 2017. Troop 106328 is a multilevel troop, with active girls from Kindergarten through Seniors in High School. Each group meets together briefly and separates into their respective groups for their meetings. These groups include all ranks of Girl Scouts: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. Meetings are held from 3:30-5:00 most Tuesdays throughout the traditional school year, with fun periodic meetings throughout the summer months. The troop is a girl-lead troop with increasing responsibility levels, as the girls mature and gain more experience.
Girls within troop 106328 are active in the community, as well as within the San Jacinto area council. The girls participate in many take action projects throughout the year.
A few recent take action projects the troop has participated in include
- grocery give away
- clothing drive
- fire station support
- cards for soldiers serving overseas
The troop has girls who participate in the council’s established programs for
- backpacking programs
- world thinking day
The troop is in the process of establishing their own choir. The girls of the troop have a wide variety of interests, which allows other girls to explore new things. These interests include sewing, drawing, horseback riding, camping, rock climbing, soccer, gymnastics, and so much more. What will happen at the next meeting? It is up to the girls and where their imaginations take them.
