Methodist Youth Fellowship

Methodist Youth Fellowship is a time for building friendships with other youth and building a relationship God. All youth 6th - 12th grade are invited to come for snack supper, and participate in a variety of games and team building activities followed by sharing and devotional. Games range from crab soccer to volleyball and capture-the-flag to hide-and-seek, among others. Special activities include overnight lock-ins, tubing and the occasional trips to Starbucks and the movie theater. MYF is on Sundays at 5:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Confirmation

Confirmation is where youth learn the principles of the Christian faith and begin to consider their role as mature followers of Jesus Christ. Confirmation is taught in the Summer as a series of six half-day retreats for youth 6th - 12th grade. During these retreats, youth build community and explore topics such as prayer, the nature of God, discipleship, what it means to be a Methodist Christian, the church, the Sacraments, worship, mission and service etc. At the end of Summer, first-time confirmands are presented before the church and confirmed to the service and love of God. This is a time of affirmation and celebration for all youth and their families, and the entire church. District Camp

Each summer, 6th - 12th grade youth from the Central North, Central South and Southwest districts of the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church attend District Camp at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center near Palestine, Texas. Lakeview provides youth with the opportunity to get closer to God through worship, education, activities and fellowship. Camp is a safe and welcoming environment for youth to experience nature and enjoy God’s creation. While Camp is a growing experience, it is a lot of fun! Campers are surrounded be a 1,300 acre property and participate in activities such as kayaking, hiking, basketball, softball, baseball, soccer, beach volleyball, swimming, archery, ropes courses, gaga ball and biking. Texas Conference Choir Clinic

Texas Conference Choir Clinic is a Spirit-filled week of music and worship for all ages where people from all Christian denominations come to celebrate God through worship arts. Associated with the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, TCCC provides first-class seminars and age-appropriate camps featuring respected clinicians in choral music, handbells, band, liturgical dance and drama, altar design, organ, piano, guitar, worship planning and much more. BIG HOUSE

BIG HOUSE is an acronym for "Believing in God, Helping Others Understand through Service Everywhere." BIG HOUSE Texas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to prepare youth to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by giving them the opportunity to be in mission and service to churches and communities in need. BIG HOUSE mission camps are open to 7th - 8th grade youth. Youth and adults join together to work on churches and homes in a four-day, Thursday - Sunday, Summer-mission-camp format at a local church. UM ARMY

UM ARMY – Texas Annual Conference is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The acronym stands for "United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth.” Every Summer, UM ARMY organizes more than 40 work camps throughout East and Southeast Texas with over 3,500 9th -12th youth and adults. The mission is two-fold, to serve people in need, and provide young people an opportunity to mature in their faith-walk and life skills through Christian service. Using a local Methodist church as a base camp, UM ARMY participants spend the week providing free home repairs for low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners in the community.
