The Rev. Luis E. Ramirez

The Rev. Luis E. RamirezPastor Luis was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He is a graduate of the Moores School of Music and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Houston where he studied Opera Performance, Italian and Spanish. He received his Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Pastor Luis has been active in ministry through Walk to Emmaus, Kairos Prison Ministry International, United Way, Meals on Wheels and Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston. In the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, he has served as the Founding Pastor of Misión Milby UMC in Houston, and as Associate Pastor at Servants of Christ UM Parish, also in Houston, and Cedar Bayou Grace UMC in Baytown.

His preaching experience includes numerous revivals in Methodist, Episcopal and Church of God in Christ congregations. Pastor Luis has taught conversational Spanish for the Houston Police Department, and Spanish and Integrated Fine Arts for Humble ISD. Locally, he has enjoyed a singing career with the Moores Opera Center, Opera America, the Kingwood Chorale and Chamber Orchestra, and numerous Houston-area churches and fine arts organizations.

Currently, Pastor Luis lives in Spring with his wife Heather and their daughter Isabella where he serves as the Pastor at Cypress Trails UMC.
